Private Photography Programs
Dates: Variable (April-October ONLY)
Private Photography Tours
This program is held inside the safety fence where you can put your lens right up to the habitat fencing. Photography tours are ideal for those on a budget, individuals who can’t go in with wolves, or for those who want to photograph the wolves at add hours of the day or in the winter months. A good DSLR with a long focal length lens will “blur” out the fence, making it invisible in most shots. Smaller ‘pocket’ cameras may have a lens small enough to simply fit through the chain link which sometimes works even better. When possible, we may also use our observation room window for photography.
Private Photography Sessions
These are geared for photo clubs, photographers wanting unique images, or individuals who need a specific date outside our regular sessions. These programs run the same as our regular photography sessions.
Program Instructor
Monty Sloan is a world-renowned wolf photographer who has been associated with Wolf Park since 1988. Monty studied Earth Sciences at UC Berkeley before getting hooked on wolf photography. Monty photographed wolves at other facilities for several years before officially moving to Wolf Park. He also works as an animal trainer, educator, and assistant researcher.
