Ce séminaire offre un regard différent quant à l’origine des chiens, les différences entre chiens et loups, déboulonne le mythe du mâle Alpha et se concentre principalement sur les théories de l’apprentissage et leur application en focalisant sur l’utilisation des marqueurs et du façonnement de nouveaux comportements.

This seminar offers a different look at the origin of dogs, the differences between dogs and wolves, debunks the Alpha myth and focuses on basic learning theories and their application, especially the use of markers and the shaping of new behaviours.

Jean Lessard MCP (CDT)

Jean Lessard est éducateur canin et comportementaliste depuis plus de 25 ans. Il pratique directement auprès des propriétaires de chiens et aussi en clinique vétérinaire à Montréal, Québec, Canada.

Sur une base régulière, il présente et enseigne dans de multiples événements de calibre internationaux au Canada, en France, Suisse, Espagne, Italie et en Amérique Latine. Il a été l’animateur de On s’aime en chien sur les ondes de Radio-Canada, une émission télé couvrant plusieurs aspects du comportement canin et l’entraînement éthique.

Ses publications incluent Comme un chien chez Le Jour, éditeur, collaboré à l’ouvrage Comportement chez le chien et le chat; observer, comprendre, modifier, publié aux éditions CCDMD et signe Mon chien chez le psy, tome 2 aux éditions Transcontinental.

Il est co-fondateur du RQIEC, l’association québécoise des intervenants en éducation canine, dont la déontologie repose sur des principes scientifiques et l’application éthique des lois de l’apprentissage.

Il est président de la Fondation des Chien Togo, un organisme multidisciplinaire procurant des chiens d’assistance psychologiques pour vétérans et autre personnes dans le besoin.

Il est aussi membre de la PPG (Pet Professional Guild) et de l’IAABC (International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants).

Logistics

The seminar will be held May 19, 2023 – May 21, 2023 from 9am – 4pm EST. The price is $800 to attend. Continental  lunch will be provided. Please let us know during the registration process if you have any dietary restrictions. No video or audio recording at the event, unless specified during particular sessions throughout the day.


Refund Policy

Wolf Park’s refund policy is as follows: Refund requests must be received in writing no later than 4 weeks prior to the event start date. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations made after this date or for no-shows. Refunds will be issued within 30 days after the course ends. A $50 processing fee will be deducted from refunds.  Registration fees are transferable to another individual upon request at any date, but for events that include food, we cannot guarantee food allergy/ special menu requests for transfers that occur less than 1 week prior to the event.
