Intermediate-Expert Animal Oil Painting Workshop with Jenny Buckner

November 01-04, 2022

$900

Join Jenny Buckner and Wolf Park’s wolf ambassadors for a workshop unlike any other. Participants will spend a portion of their first day photographing wolves with world-renowned photographer Monty Sloan. Using photographs of Wolf Park’s ambassador animals, Jenny will guide participants through her entire process of painting wolves and foxes; from drawing to finish, with special emphasis on light and shadow. Workshop attendees will learn how to make their paintings come alive! This program is designed for intermediate to expert level oil painters – no beginners please.

Jenny Buckner is an internationally acclaimed artist born and raised in the mountains of North Carolina. She is featured in galleries throughout the country and has placed in and won numerous art competitions, including an “International Artist Magazine’s” competition. She was featured in their February/March 2015 edition and has also been published in the book “How to Paint People”, Vol. 1, by International Artist. Jenny considered pursuing a career in veterinary medicine or floriculture. Although she took a different path, her love of animals and nature have remained steadfast throughout her life. She recently partnered with Defenders of Wildlife to host the 2020 Red Wolf Art Exhibit to raise awareness and funds for the critically endangered red wolf. She currently paints in the historical town of Waynesville, North Carolina, where she can be found blasting rock music in her beautiful studio surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains.
