April 2, 2006
Willow and Twister arrived at Wolf Park in April, 2006. Willow is smaller and lighter in color than her adopted brother. She has a white tip on her tail while he has a black.
Willow is an assertive little lady who rules the enclosure with an iron paw. She expects Twister to pay attention to her at all times and thinks all treats belong to her. The staff tries to encourage her to be nice to her brother and let him have a turn at earning treats.
Willow is fascinated by the wolves. She thinks she’s just as big as they are. She and Timber have become particularly fond of chasing one another down the fence line.
Both coyotes are excellent singers and will howl upon request. Sometimes their howls attract the wild coyotes. Willow and Twister will howl very enthusiastically to make it clear this territory belongs to them!
