Wolf Park Welcomes the arrival of two coyote pups, Twister and Willow!
We got the puppies from the National Wildlife Research Center, which is under the auspices of the USDA and APHIS. The pups came from the Millville, Utah, field station.
http://www.aphis.usda.gov/ws/nwrc/hx/logan.html is their home page.
They have a gorgeous facility, with many large pens in which coyotes are kept in pairs, and three HUGE research fields, about 20 acres apiece!!
The main focus of their research is on finding ways to keep coyotes off of livestock without harming the coyotes.
The girl, Willow, was born on April 2; the boy, Twister, was born on April 3. Obviously, they are not from the same litter! :) The girl is from a line that has been in captivity for a while; the boy's parents were wild-caught.
Both are very cute, very feisty and open for sponsors!
On June 16, 2006, their new home was completed at Eastlake. Thank you all so much for your donations!
